4 Times God Has Proven Faithful of our Faith

Fear is what happens when we look to the future and see more than we can handle. To overcome fear, we are to look forward with faith. But the best way to do this is to first look back to remind ourselves of all the times God was faithful to do the supernatural in the past, which gives us hope that He will do the same in the future. This is exactly what Paul does, teaching us that our faith is in a faithful and supernatural God who has proven faithful in these 4 specific times:

  1. Our God Can Make A Momma out of the Barren and Virgin

Romans 4:13 – For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Sarah was a 65-year-old barren woman who waited 25 years to have Isaac when she was 90! Through her womb came the nation of Israel and Jesus Christ, who was born to a virgin.

  1. Our God Trades Rebellion for Righteousness

Romans 4:14-15 For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.

God’s Law is like a fence with a “no trespassing” sign posted on it. We sinners ignored the sign, hopped the fence, and are trespassing over God’s boundary. Despite our rebellion, Jesus not only takes our sin but also gives us Jesus to make rebels righteous.

  1. Our God Can Rescue Anyone Anywhere Anytime

Romans 4:16-17 – That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead…

There is one problem – human sin.

There is one Savior – Jesus Christ.

There is one salvation – by “grace” through “faith”.

The same God who rescued Abraham can still rescue anyone, anywhere, anytime as his character and plan never change.

  1. Our God Needs Nothing to Succeed

Romans 4:17 – …the God in whom he believed, who…calls into existence the things that do not exist.

God, the God who created everything out of nothing, needs nothing to succeed in doing what He promises. God is independent and needs no one and no thing.

How has God proven faithful to you in a supernatural way?
