What is your favorite Christmas gift you have ever received?
At Christmas, we give and receive gifts as a tribute to Jesus Christ who gives us Himself as the greatest gift the world has ever known.
The greatest gifts we receive are not things, but people. People who give us their love, help, and devotion are priceless.
This is the spirit of 1 Timothy 2:3-6 which says, “God our Savior…desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all…”
Every Christmas, the world stops to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The birth of Jesus is the entrance of God into the world. He could have come as our judge, but He instead came to save sinners from Satan, sin, death, hell, and the wrath of God. Jesus gives the gift we cannot earn – eternal life. This is what the Bible means in saying that salvation is a gift of grace paid for by Jesus Christ and given to us freely.
Have you received the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ? If not, Christmas is the perfect season to receive Him as your God and Savior now and forever.
