Heaven Ain’t Crummy: You Will Work and Worship with Divine Beings in Heaven

Revelation 4:1-8 – I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven!…seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads [human beings]…around the throne…are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight [divine beings]….each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within…day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!

Have you ever been to the zoo to see created beings that you were curious to learn about? Have you ever wondered if there is life in other galaxies or on other planets and what that what might be like? There is an innate human curiosity to find and meet other created beings.

Why?

We were made by God for this very thing. Right now, there is an unseen world just as real as the world we do see, filled with divine beings (e.g. angels) that are just as real as you and me. God is a Father with a human family and a divine family that were made to work and worship together as we see God, people, and an angel in the Garden of Eden.

Sadly, sin not only separated people and God, it also separated God’s divine and human families. Right now, the two families are together working and worshipping in Heaven as John saw in Revelation 4. When Jesus returns to the earth, He will bring Heaven with Him and there will be complete reconciliation of God and man, unseen and seen realms, Heaven and earth, and God’s divine and human families. To state it simply, when Heaven comes to earth, you will not be bored as you will have work to do spreading God’s Kingdom rule from one end of the cosmos to the other, with the help of angels and other divine beings, which is an incredible future to envision.

What do you think it will be like to meet angels and other members of God’s divine family and build relationships with them?
