“For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.”– Ephesians 6:15 (NLT)
Every day, you step into chaos—broken people, broken world, broken systems. But God didn’t leave you barefoot. He gave you shoes—the Gospel of Peace—to walk steady and sure across any battlefield.
Peace isn’t passive. It’s not crossing your legs on a yoga mat, emptying your mind, and hoping the day gets easier. Real peace is active. It’s moving forward with Jesus in faith, repentance, and trust.
The gospel is the story of Jesus’ sinless life, sacrificial death, and victorious Resurrection. Because of Him, we don’t just survive the battlefield—we walk in peace that can’t be stolen. It’s a deep, unshakable security that comes from knowing your sins are forgiven, your future is secure, and your Savior is alive.
The world defines peace as comfort, quiet, and calm. The Bible defines peace (Shalom) as wholeness, unity, and right relationship with Jesus—the Prince of Peace.
Peace isn’t the absence of trouble; it’s the presence of Christ in the middle of it.
Charles Spurgeon once said, “The Christian was evidently intended to be in motion, for here are shoes for his feet.” (1) We were meant to walk, move, and share the Good News with a world full of bad news.
Peace comes by staying connected to Jesus through prayer, Bible reading, Christian fellowship, and obedience to His Word. Peace flows from surrender, not from circumstances.
Life won’t calm down anytime soon. But you can walk steadily today, not because everything is easy, but because your heart is anchored to the Prince of Peace.
To summarize the connection of the first three pieces of the armor of God:
TRUTH is knowing God’s way,
RIGHTEOUSNESS is living God’s way,
and PEACE is accessible through the gospel!
Where in your life do you need to stop chasing calm—and start walking in the peace of Christ?
