The Bible does not just tell us what happened in the past, but rather what always happens. In Daniel 3, a demonic counterfeit king named Nebuchadnezzar ruling over a demonic counterfeit kingdom called Babylon tries to replace King Jesus and the Kingdom of God with one state religion typified by a ninety-foot golden statue of himself to be bowed down to and worshipped. Behind all of this, the demonic spirit of Babylon is at work and continues to work throughout history until Jesus defeats it at His Second Coming in Revelation 18. To help illustrate this principle at The Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona where I preach most Sundays, I shared the following images to help open people’s understanding so they can see that the demonic spirit of Babylon is still at work today.
