The Only Political Leader Who Has Proven 100% Trustworthy

Every election year, people are filled with hope that their candidate will actually do what they say they will do. And they never do.

In 1916, Woodrow Wilson promised to avoid war, but just 29 days into his term he declared war on Germany.

In 1928, Herbert Hoover promised prosperity with “a chicken in every pot”, and “a car in every backyard”, and just eight months into his term the Great Depression hit.

In 1940, Franklin D. Roosevelt promised “your boys are not going to be sent into any foreign wars” and then declared war on Japan after the bombing at Pearl Harbor.

In 1964, Lyndon B. Johnson promised not to send American soldiers to Asia, and then deployed troops to Vietnam multiple times.

In 1976, Jimmy Carter promised to solve the energy crisis, but things only got much worse.

In 1988, George HW Bush said, “read my lips, no new taxes”, and then instituted new taxes once recession hit.

Over and over, promises are made that are never kept. When we put our faith in someone who is not faithful, our faith is worthless Thankfully, there is one exception. There is one political leader who never lies and never fails. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.

Explaining the faith journey of Abraham, Romans 4:18-19 says, “In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, ‘So shall your offspring be.’ He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.”

The bottom line is that God made a promise to an elderly barren couple that they would be blessed, get a land, have a son, start a nation, and see Jesus come through their faith to make good on the promise to save sinners and has proven totally trustworthy and true!

Which future promise from God’s Word are you most looking forward to seeing fulfilled?
