What is the Finish Line for a Christian?

“For it was fitting that he [Jesus Christ], for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.” – Hebrews 2:10

We are told that God’s goal for each of His children is to get us “to glory.” Being saved, baptized, and starting our Christian walk is the starting line, not the finish line.

Too many Christians make salvation their finish line, as if repenting of sin and receiving Jesus was the end of our walk with God.

God’s goal is, and our goal must be, to keep growing in glory by learning, suffering, repenting, and maturing until the perfect version of us is unveiled in the Kingdom.

There, like a mirror reflects an image, we will reflect the goodness and glory of Christ forever and ever in our character.

The exhortation is to not stop maturing and not settle for anything less than getting “to glory.”

Tomorrow we will look at the life of Moses and his impact on the Bible.

How are you doing at growing in glory? In what ways can you be more intentional to grow in your faith?
