Satan’s Attack on Men #1. Men are not launching into masculinity [lower 1/3]

  • 70% of D’s and F’s in school are earned by boys 
  • By 8th grade 20% of boys are proficient writing, and 24% are proficient in reading 
  • Young men spend avg 8 hrs day on leisure & screen time (porn, video games)
  • Boys mature different girls, medicated 
  • men’s avg testosterone levels dropping by 1% every year since 1980
  • 27% of 17-24 yr old men are too obese to join the military 
  • upto 75% do not qualify for military (physical, mental, emotional, etc.)
  • The Amer Psych Assoc 2019, “…traditional masculinity – marked by stoicism, competitiveness, dominance and aggression – is, on the whole, harmful.”
  • Masculinity – now a toxic = removed & replaced with passivity 
  • Transgenderism & mental health/gender confusion = very soft & weak 

=Government cannot raise a boy to be a man. Only a man can raise a boy to be a man. 

Satan’s Attack on Men #2. Men are not launching into the workforce [lower 1/3]

  • 81% of single parents = women 
  • 1st ever – majority 18-34 yr men living w/mother
  • 19% males 25-29 w/o biological father are idle (not in school or work)
  • Record 7 million men 25-54 not working or looking for work (Not In Labor Force). 

=If you will not work, you are not a man. 

Satan’s Attack on Men #3. Men are not launching into marriage [lower 1/3]

  • Record cohabitating couples 
  • Avg age 1st marriage over 30 
  • Record 40 yr old unmarried men 

=1. Attack your selfishness. 2. Awaken your servant. 

Satan’s Attack on Men #4. Men are not launching into fatherhood [lower 1/3]

  • Since 1968 # children w/o father has doubled to 18.4 million children
  • US – highest % of fatherlessness, 300% higher global average. 
  • Majority children born to women under 30 born out of wedlock w/o father. 
  • Less than ½ adults grew up w/mom & dad  
  • 85% of teens with behavioral disorders have no father       
  • 70% adolescents in drug and alcohol treatment centers have no father 
  • 90% of homeless and runaway children have no father 
  • Children without a father 5X more likely poverty; 9X more likely to drop out school

Satan’s Attack on Men #5. Launched men are crashing their families

  1. Passive – unhealthy wife, don’t coach sons, don’t guard daughters 
  2. Abusive/Angry – grown kids cutoff for their marriage/kids 
  3. Self-Indulgent – food, drugs, alcohol, $/success 
  4. Perverted – adultery 

= Midlife crisis 

Way #1 to Punch Back: Be in Christ [lower 1/3]

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

You need forgiveness to get a new start

  1. God the Father will adopt you
  2. God the Son will save & set the example for you
  3. God the Spirit will empower you 

Way #2 to Punch Back: Be in church [lower 1/3]

Hebrews 10:24-25 let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…

  1. Men in military have brotherhood, strong male leadership 
  2. End WW II 1945 US Pop 140 million, over 12 million in military & most deployed 

= 9% total US Population 

  • Women took over church
  • Men not comfortable feminine environment. Women ok if not unsafe/angry. 

According to data collected by Promise Keepers and the Baptist Press [1 slide]

  1. If the wife attends church regularly, but the father does not, there’s a 2% chance the children will become regular attenders of a church as adults. 
  2. If a father attends church irregularly, there’s a 50%-67% chance the children will attend church with some regularity as adults.
  3. If the father attends church regularly, there’s a 67%-75% chance the children will regularly attend church as adults (whether or not the mother attends).
