=2 Kingdoms Church inferior/State superior. State has right. Church no right.
Politics – Latin “politicus” /Greek “politikos” = resident city/nation = XN Dual Citizenship
The 2 Kingdoms in the Old Testament [lower 1/3]
The Old Testament Church was led by priests from Levi’s line
Deuteronomy 18:1 “The Levitical priests, all the tribe of Levi…”
The Old Testament State was led by Kings from Judah’s line
Genesis 49:10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff…

Matthew 6: 9-10 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Luke 20:22-25 Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?” But he [Jesus] perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Show me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?” They said, “Caesar’s.” He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
John 18:36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting…But my kingdom is not from the world.”
2 Corinthians 4:4 the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Philippians 3:20 our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ…
God’s Kingdom (Church) vs Human Nations (State)

All authority Limited authority from God
Grants rights Should protect rights
Never corrupted Always corrupted
=We love our nation. Our highest loyalty is to the Kingdom because we are Church
Election season – candidates promise the Kingdom of God & can’t deliver (sin/curse)
5 Kinds of Christian and the 2 Kingdoms [lower 1/3]
Psalm 47:8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on his holy throne.
- Catholic – The Church is greater, and can rule the State functioning as one kingdom.
- Anabaptist – The State is part of the demonic world system. The Church should avoid voting, politics, and military service to to ensure total separation.
- Calvinist – The Church is greater than the State, and can rule the State functioning as one kingdom to Christianize the nations. (Servitus = capital punishment heretic)
- Lutheran – The State is lesser than the Church, and should restrain evil and protect the Church so it can expand the Kingdom through gospel preaching.
- Evangelical – A combination of Calvinist and Lutheran, the State is lesser and should protect the Church, while the Church advances the Kingdom and seeks to influence the state with godly laws and politicians.
Wall of Separation? Separation Church & State???
- 1620 Mayflower Compact XN Pilgrims established form self-government rooted in Biblical principles = alternative to monarchy they fled in England. =DEMOCRACY
- “American Experiment” (0 in world @ time, today 56% world under form Democracy)
- US not founded w/nat’l religion but states had official XD denom’s (READ pg 52)
- Preamble to U.S. Dec of Ind July 4, 1776, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”
- 1791 Establishment Clause prohibits establishing 1 nat’l religion [Anglican England)
- 1868 section 1 of 14th Amend extended Establishment Clause to no state religion
- ?”wall of separation” – Thomas Jefferson. In France when US Constitution drafted, not a member of Congress when 1st Amendment passed, 13 yrs after 1st Amend passed & 11 yrs after ratified wrote letter to Danbury Baptist Association 1802
=1 man’s opinion, in NO founding docs of US.
The Church should be in the state, but the state should not be in the Church
Error 1 – State No Church (tyranny) Error 2 – State over Church (weaponized)
The Line between the 2 Kingdoms (Church and State) is the Word of God
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Jude 1:3 contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
Contend = struggle hard, defend, standup, stoutly defend, vigorously defend, fight strenuously, fight w/everything you have, fight hard!

- Church is supposed to be theocratic “ruled by God”
- World always trying to get Church to move line south until it’s erased
- Church needs to call the world to repentance
- Church needs to remind gov’t that it is not God, & is accountable to Him

- Tyranny – When Gov’t doesn’t accept 2 Kingdoms = be God (attributes)
- ?Gov’t gets Church lane = 1). Get run off road 2. Honk & dent
