Revelation 2:20 – But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
I spent most of my life in the urban big city preaching the gospel to a bunch of people who were addicted, assaulted, and abused. I’ve been up against the Jezebel spirit for 30 years of my life.
I’m a father of 5 kids from 17 to 25 years old. Pastors get into ministry for the same reason firefighters put on their uniform or teachers go into a classroom. People are hurting and we’re here to help. I wouldn’t be a pastor if I didn’t love people.
At the end of the day, if someone is hurting, is it loving to let that continue or most loving to let them know they’re hurting themselves? If I go to the doctor, sometimes he tells me things that offend me, but he’s trying to help me.
So, how’s it going in a day when we have record transgenderism, when children are taking puberty blockers to deny the natural course of life that God intended for their body, that we have gender mutilation for minors? What does that do to your mind, body, and soul? We don’t know. It’s a great experiment, but it doesn’t seem to be going well.
We also have incredible tolerance of all perspectives, ideologies, and sexualities, unless it’s Christianity serving the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In some places, kids won’t even tell their parents what they’re really doing because the teacher or the doctor say they know better than the mother and father.
We have record, catastrophic, cataclysmic mental health. You would think with so much tolerance, people would be flourishing and instead, they’re dying.
Today, in the media, in politics, even in the church, there are false prophets empowered by the same demons as the false prophets in the day of Elijah. What’s the motivation for calling out false prophets?
You might think – Isn’t it cruel? Isn’t it unloving? Isn’t it being hateful towards people? It’s actually out of pure love.
Where have you seen tolerance lead to destruction in our culture? Is there anywhere you’ve seen it lead to something positive?
