-Matt 3:4 “John [Baptizer] wore a garment of camel’s hair & a leather belt around his waist..”

= HSHometown? “Tisbhe in Gilead” – too small know where? – mountain men/outlaws

3 Kinds of People We all start 1 or 2 or both 

1.    Passive Ahab (

Controlled by: Fear, Entitlement, Victimhood, Flattery, Emotionalism; Pleasure, Comfort  

Avoid: Conflict, Leading, Sacrifice, Discomfort, Hard Work, Rejection, + Change 

=Who/what do you tolerate that you know is wrong? Who do you allow to be harmed? 

2.    Controlling Jezebel (Arrogant, Aggressive, Manipulative, Domineering)

Control: Relationships, $, Conversation, Environment, Info, Platforms, Narrative, Home/Church

Hate: Authority, No, Losing, Rebuke, Leaders, 

Tactics: controversy, lies, conflict, oppression, threats, seduction, death (Home & Church)

·         Internet “accountability” “discernment” “walking in light” Hate Elijah. Even call you Jezebel ANTI-MINISTRY Weaponize Bible. Religious, church (Rev. 2)

3.    Assertive Elijah

=Open/honest feel/think/want Known by others but not controlling of others. Honor themselves & others. Stands up for rights & makes concessions for relationship, humble confidence. HS

Elijah vs Ahab

1 Kings 18:17-19 When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab asked him, “Is it really you, you destroyer of Israel?”But Elijah replied, “I’m no destroyer of Israel. But you and your ancestor’s household have been doing that, because you have abandoned the Lord’s commandments and have followed the Baals. So go gather all of Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel. Bring along 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the Asherah who are funded at Jezebel’s expense.”

1. Reject -negative narrative 
2. Rebuke – sin
3. Reveal – demonic 
4. Return – fire 

Elijah vs Jezebel

Revelation 2:20-24 I [Jesus] have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works… do not hold this teaching…what some call the deep things of Satan.

1. Reject -negative narrative 
2. Rebuke – sin
3. Reveal – demonic 
4. Return – fire 

Elijah’s Are Men of God Who Endure 4 Things (mostly 1 Kings 19) 

1. Loneliness (hunted alone 3.5 yrs) 
2. Slander –“troubler” – sometimes translated, “asp”, or “viper”= serpent like Satan

=Homophobe. Islamaphobe. Bigot. Bully. Abusive. XN Nationalist 

3. Physical exhaustion – “slept under broom tree” = 40 days off

=demons don’t have limits 

4. Spiritual Oppression & Depression – ““he asked [God] that he might die”

How to be an Elijah 

#1. Word of God – “Word of the Lord” & “gentle whisper”  = BLESSED PLACE 

#2. Kingdom Down (not right/left but north/south) 

#3. A brother for the battle (Elisha “my father”) 

#4. Holy Spirit 

·         1 Kings 18:12 “the Spirit of the Lord will carry you”

·         2 Kings 2:9 “Elisha said, “Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me.”

Anointing(Counterfeit – Spirit Filled vs Demonized) 

HS flow on you, in you, through you in power = serve God & bless others 

Symbol – oil that flows down – leads to a “flow” in the Spirit 

Sovereign Anointing– Cannot turn flow on/off = who/when/why = flows 

• -Bypasses intellect
• Bypasses education

·         Christ – means “anointed one”; Lk. 4:18 “the Spirit is upon me…he has anointed me”

·         Churches (difft’ yesterday)

·         Christians 

• Anointed people can sense the presence of anointing 
• Don’t covet their anointing. Be content w/your anointing 
• Anointing brings opposition – counterfeits, spiritual warfare 
• You cannot lose your salvation, but you can lose your anointing
• Ahab/Jez have money, but Elijah has anointing 
• Ahab/Jez have power, but Elijah has anointing
• Ahab/Jez have religion, but Elijah has anointing 
• Ahab/Jez have a staff/army, but Elijah has anointing 

#5. This Places (Mt Carmel, Jesus visit, worship “Beersheba” – since Abraham/Isaac) 

#6. A remnant for revival 1 Kings 19:8 (cf. Rom11:2-5) ^“…7000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

Elijah Spirit 

Malachi 4:5-6 (NLT) “Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.”

Holy Spirit- Elijah – Elisha – John Baptizer – Jesus Christ – Spirit-Filled men – Elijah 2^nd

Stand 

Ask Like Elisha for the Spirit of Elijah – a fatherly spirit 

1 hand up son to God Father

1 hand your father or son 

James 5:17 [NLT] ^“Elijah was as human as we are, and…he prayed earnestly…”

4 Steps to Reclaiming Surrendered Ground 

1. Confess – any demonic foothold 
2. Cancel – exercise your dominion in Christ 
3. Command – deliverance – leave servants/works/effects 
4. Commit – invite HS fill
